My baby shower list was extensive. I'm a research and a planner. Nothing in my life works harder than my Google Sheets app, but what do you do if there isn’t a list? Or if this isn’t their first baby and they have everything already?
Then you’ll want to get them something different that can be actually helpful down the line, right? I’m so pleased you’re here and doing this research because I promise you, no new parents need yet another newborn baby grow!
So, how does Joyful Jellybean comes into it?
Hi, I’m Ellen and I created Joyful Jellybean when I was on maternity leave and I was totally and utterly fed up with feeling like I was waiting for my son to grow up so I could get him the toys that were available on the market and looked fun.
As a new parent the hormones are still racing through you (I think it’s actually worse than when you’re pregnant!) and everyday he was growing I was feeling scared that time was going so quickly - especially when that’s what everyone likes to tell you! So I didn’t want to be wishing him to skip through the months until I could get him some toys that actually looked fun!
I wanted to be able to get him toys that were age appropriate for him at 2 / 3 months old, that weren’t just cuddly toys. I wanted toys that I could enjoy telling him stories with to work on language development, spending that quality time engaging with him in a way that was also fun for me too. Before having a child it’s easy to imagine that playtime just comes naturally. It can do, but when you’re sleep deprived you need all the help you can get.
So I decided to do it myself. I spent 6 months researching and researching and researching toys that looked beautiful, were interactive and were age appropriate for little ones. I promise you, you’ll never find a wooden block or a black and white box of tat on this website!
Everything had to be CE certified, safe, non-toxic, beautiful to look at, fun to play with and age appropriate. I had high expectations of what I wanted and for me it was non-negotiable. Joyful Jellybean would have never gotten off the ground if I couldn’t find the items that matched these credentials. This is something I’m genuinely passionate about and feel so strongly about, so I’m here to help!
Our baby toy boxes will be the perfect baby shower gift, because you can choose the theme to suit the interests of the parents, whilst safe in the knowledge that the toys are brilliant for little ones.
